Best Man Speech Examples

1. Thank you to everyone for being here today to share x and x’s special day. X and I have been friends since we were boys, and I’m so happy to see him marry such a great women. Ever since they met each other, I’ve never seen them apart. Even during the tough times I’ve seen their love get stronger and stronger. Thanks to you, X, for being such a great friend. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness. Cheers!

2. Today it’s my great privilege to be the first to make a toast to x and x as husband and wife. You might already know that I went to college with X, but you might not know that we first met in grade school, playing Little League baseball. We were arch rivals back then, and in the final game of the season X hit the home run. He crushed my ego for years!

Thankfully, X also made a much longer lasting impression on me, as a teammate, a classmate and a friend. He has always been there for me, and is a fantastic die. I’d even go as far as to say that, if I was a woman, I’d be the bride here today!

But in all seriousness, I think he’s found a better option in X (the bride). Let us toast to them and wish them a long lifetime of love and happiness. Congratulations!

3. After 25 years of sibling rivalry, I’m pleased to see my brother finally knows who the best man really is! I wish X and X all the best, now and forever. As you live your lives together, make sure you are there for each other and always respect each other. Never go to bed sorry, and always remember the words ‘I’m sorry’. Separately you are both great, but together you can take things to a new level. Congratulations!

Funny Best Man Speeches Must Follow These 5 Top Tips

Funny Best Man Speeches Must Follow These 5 Top Tips

Funny best man speeches are the kind of speeches that everyone remembers from a wedding day – people look forward to them and love to laugh for a few minutes. But it can be tough coming up with the perfect speech, which is why I’ve put together five top tips on how to do it.

Before I get started I want to remind you – funny best man speeches are NOT supposed to be vulgar. You have to remember that relatives of all ages are going to be there, and you don’t want to offend anyone with your jokes.

Onto the tips:

1) Stand Up While You Speak

This almost goes without saying, but it’s important that you’re standing as you give the speech. Make sure that you have everyone’s attention before you start – when you stand up, people will start to quiet down.

2) Plan In Advance

Never try to just come up with a speech on the spot – it just won’t work. The best man’s speech is important, so try to start working on it at least a few weeks before the wedding.

3) Keep Practicing

It can be scary speaking in public, but the more you practice your speech the more confident you’ll feel. Plus you won’t need to look down at your notes as often.

4) Don’t Make It Too Long

The best speeches are short and sweet: they are emotional but they don’t ramble on. Remember that the day is about the bride and groom and not about you.

5) Keep It Clean

Like I said before, not is not the time to be rude or to bring up any wild offensive stories about you and the groom. You don’t want to upset the bride and groom – only tell stories that will make them happy.

Funny best man speeches don’t need to be rude or long to have an effect! And if you want more ideas I recommend you take a look at the Best Man Speech Guide – this is where I found inspiration for what to write in my own speech.

Best Man Speeches – Our Nine Top Tips

Best Man Speeches – Our Nine Top Tips

Best man speeches pose a unique challenge for just about any man. One of the hardest parts is deciding whether you want to go for the jokes – or if you should just keep it safe, but serious. Here are our nine top tips on coming up with the best speech possible.

1) Be Prepared: Best man speeches should always be prepared in advance. Don’t leave it to the last minute – spend time thinking about the bride and groom, what they mean to you, and what you’d wish for their future.

2) Write it Down: Writing down your speech can make it a lot easier when it comes time to do it. You don’t need to bring the full written version with you to the wedding, but writing it in advance is a good way of getting it into your head.

3) Introduce Yourself: Before anything else, you need to introduce yourself to the guests and let them know what your relationship is with the bride and groom.

4) What to Say: The best speeches either tell a story, include some funny jokes, or begin with an inspiring quote.

5) Speak Clearly: Make sure everyone can hear you by speaking slowly and clearly.

6) Remember Who To Thank: Your speech should always begin by thanking the parents of the bride and groom. Depending on who is paying, you might also want to thank the bride and groom themselves for organizing the event and letting everyone share in the special occasion.

7) Keep It Short: Speeches are better when they don’t drag on, so try to limit it to 5 or 10 minutes in length.

8) Show Your Emotions: Not all men will be comfortable with this, but it’s ok to show your emotions – especially since two of your good friends are getting married.

9) How to End: You want to end the speech by congratulating the bride and groom, and giving them a message of hope for their future.
